Hi, my name is Edward Gomez I am the founder and owner of The Austin Crowd. The mission of my website is to build a smaller local “digital neighborhood” for the Austin area. I am a user and fan of other social networks, however it seems that things get lost in a global network. So why not incorporate all the great ideas of the different social websites and make one catered to the Austin area. This is a unique city, and I feel we need a place to share ideas/skills/interests (e.g. I want to start training for a sprint triathlon, find other members who have the experience), post events (such as a local band you like to follow), you can post a classified (so you can sell your 3 month old iPhone, to get the latest model), or you can find new friendships and see what blooms from that.
